Tasks This Meeting:

Work on script for STEMposium

Cut out the hand

Build some demo robots for Boys and Girls Club

Reflections For This Meeting:

Cutting details in PETG is very hard to do with a bandsaw, looks like we might have to spend some money and send off the CAD of the hand and it get laser cut.

Today we worked on the script, the hand, and some easy demo bots. Overall it was a very productive meeting and all tasks were completed early. Unfortunately the detail cuts of the hand didn't come out as good as we wanted, so we have to spend the $50 to get two pieces laser cut.  We'll order them and they should be here by next meeting.

Al worked most the meeting re-writing the script, reading it aloud, then writing it over again so it would be perfect!

Karl works on building some demo bots using the older lego mixed with some newer stuff. The idea was to show gearing ratios and how they effect movement of a vehicle.

Chris had to do some manual cutting of the hand so that it would fit into the bandsaw.

Chris began cutting out the hand, a very long and detail oriented process. If you miss just once the rest of the hand can be ruined.

Chris working on cutting out parts of the hand using a drill to make it possible to get the hand saw in.

Soon after it was to cutting the smaller componets, most of which were in Polycarb, due to the strength it offered.

All the components layed out, now the hand just needs to be bent and put together.
